POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent assists with welding, mechanical and electrical tools. The position is in a manufacturing facility and the candidate must be able to perform routine repairs, complete preventive maintenance procedures, and troubleshoot machines to keep production running.

Base hourly rate of $20/hr - $31/hr

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Performs troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities on equipment.
  • Overhauls, dismantles, reassembles, and installs equipment.
  • Reads and comprehends blueprints and technical manuals to support the team.
  • Repairs and/or replaces defective electrical components in the welders, air compressors, battery & corded power tools.
  • Operates company equipment/vehicles in a manner that facilitates safety and efficiency.
  • Abides by all regular driving rules, as well as with the safety policies and procedures of the Company.
  • Interacts in a courteous, collaborative, and communicative manner with coworkers.
  • Prepares all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Establishes best practices and protocols to achieve an efficient management of Company property, equipment, and materials.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording the location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
  • Ensures materials and supplies are available compared to the production orders.
  • Maintains an organized and clear working/storage area, within standard inventory control practice.
  • Implements proactive repairs as found when tools return from the field.
  • Addresses safety issues and communicates general improvements to the Field Construction Manager.
  • Additional duties may be assigned based on workload.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • This position operates primarily in a warehouse environment, which can mean exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and/or moderate noise levels. Work tasks may also necessitate regular use of a forklift, as well as other basic hand tools.
  • This position will also spend a sizable portion of time operating a truck to complete job tasks, which means exposure to the hazards typically associated with vehicular travel, including weather, traffic, occasional noise, etc.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, balance, kneel, reach, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • You may occasionally be required to climb, crawl, crouch, stoop, and/or perform repetitive motion.
  • This is considered a medium work position, which means possible exertion of up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to thirty (30) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


TRAVEL:



  • This position may require up to 15% travel.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Capacity to successfully execute job duties under limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of general hand and power tools.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Pre-employment drug testing and background screening are required.
  • Self-motivated and strong organizational skills.
  • Must have a clean driving record.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Two years of experience in mechanic and electrical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Background in mechanical fabrication
  • Ability to weld in order to test the repairs is a plus
  • Ability to weld, solder, and use a multi-meter.
  • Ability to search online and obtain the best products and prices to keep tool room stock.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook and Excel
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and maintenance
