The Facility and Systems Security (FSS) Group seeks applicants with experience in radiation detection technologies and their application within nonproliferation/nuclear security systems for a Nuclear Nonproliferation Technical Specialist position. Our group resides within the Nuclear and Radiological Sciences (NRS) Section, Nuclear Nonproliferation Division (NND), and the Nuclear Security Sciences Directorate (NSSD) at ORNL. Staff within NND perform a wide range of scientific, technical, and programmatic activities in all facets of the nuclear enterprise from nonproliferation project support and management, to research and development (R&D) pertaining to radiological/nuclear (RN) materials processing, management, and transportation. Scope is available across a range of sponsors within the DOE National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA); other sponsors may include the Department of State (DOS), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The Nuclear Nonproliferation Technical Specialist will coordinate with colleagues across the FSS Group, NRS Section, and NND Division to develop, manage and implement project work for sponsors, as suitable to their unique skills and experience.
