You will lead and/or assist in the performance of Electrical Component (Parts) Engineering, and development and execution of the program Electrical Electronic Electromechanical and Electrooptical (EEEE) Parts management plan. You will evaluate new technologies and work closely with survivability, designers, test and manufacturing engineers, agencies like DLA, Part Manufacturers and Test Labs. You'll use your education, experience and expertise to develop and evaluate new and innovative technology to survive in the harshest of environments and most critical strategic systems.
Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements unsuitability of standard material and difficult coordination requirements. Plans and conducts the analysis inspection design test and/or integration to assure the quality of products or components. Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements including vendor quality manuals and company quality records. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the acceptability of components. Skills: Must be willing to accept a wide variety of work assignments supporting the total end-to-end process of capturing designing developing testing manufacturing and life-cycle support of electronic systems. Responsible for the performance of detailed part level obsolescence management consisting of monitoring BOM's solving issues scheduling and managing implementation of fixes finding new sources and reacting and solving issues to ensure no production line stoppages. Candidate will work closely with design engineers interface with other functional areas and vendors and enforce PMPCP Compliance. The candidate will periodically be required to make presentations to program management and customers. In this role you will: Define and lead Electrical / Electronic / Electromechanical / Electrooptical (EEEE) Parts Engineering technical assignments related to hardware design, manufacture and test. Define and lead in the strategic approach to selection, qualification, test, and failure analysis of EEEE Parts. Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement/Supply Chain organization. Work on electrical components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits (ICs), hybrids, crystals, crystal oscillators, filters, fuses, heaters, magnetics, microcircuits, relays, semiconductors, thermistors. Travel and work closely with suppliers and government agencies to ensure electronic component selections meet both quality expectations and product performance requirements. Work with leadership on technical mentoring plans and development opportunities for junior engineers Basic Quals: Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related technical field Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits, semiconductor physics and/or operation of devices such as hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes and capacitors Advanced knowledge of design, functionality, manufacturing, materials and processes used in EEEE parts Experience reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design and test teams. Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.) Experience or knowledge of failure analysis, destructive physical analysis and/or root cause and corrective action analysis related to EEEE parts Desired Skills: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Engineering with emphasis on electrical parts, semiconductor physics or related field of study Familiarity with technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.) Experience leading and presenting in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR Active DoD Secret clearance or higher Advanced understanding of Nuclear effects on EEEE parts and demonstrated ability to work closely with Survivability Engineers in strategic Rad Hard applications Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements Advanced understanding of worst-case analysis (WCA) / EEEE parts derating and end of life requirements Experience in leading the evaluation of current and developing technologies for EEEE parts in complex design packages Comments for Suppliers: On-site three days a week minimum (Tues-Thu). Will likely be located at Jamaica St. leased bldg. Team works 9/80A track schedule. #CJ |
