THE ROLE:

AMD seeks a communications specialist to work with the IT communications team to develop and implement communication strategies, plans, and deliverables to support the organization's IT changes and initiatives. Responsibilities include managing and creating content for the monthly IT newsletter by planning articles, interviewing IT colleagues, and developing stories that highlight IT solutions.

THE PERSON:

The right person must be an excellent communicator and strong writer - with the ability to keep complex things simple. You'll also need to be able to manage multiple programs at once in a fast-paced environment and be able to pivot quickly when needed. This important role will ensure effective and consistent IT communications to our various audiences and internal stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceptualizes, writes, and edits engaging, internal-facing communications, including digital signage, emails and newsletters that advance IT's strategic goals and priorities
  • Works with subject matter experts to develop thought content that supports IT change management needs
  • Monitors and tracks the effectiveness of IT communication efforts, specifically the experience of our employees and managers, by gathering and analyzing data, such as employee feedback and engagement metrics. Use insights to continuously improve communication strategies, messaging, and delivery.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal clients, primarily with the IT organization and executive communications team

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Corporate communications, internal communications and/or change management communications experience in a global company
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, PowerPoint presentation development, attention to details, and ability to create comprehensive communication plans and engaging messaging
  • Experience writing content for emails, newsletters, digital signage, social media, and/or websites
  • Website creation or content management is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications or a related communications field.
