Job Description

Job Description

  • Design, implement, and oversee DEIB programs, projects, and initiatives aligned with the hospital's strategic goals.

  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze data to identify opportunities to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in workforce, patient care, and community outreach.

  • Manage DEIB-related events, such as cultural competency training, awareness campaigns, and diversity celebrations.

  • Monitor, collect, and analyze statistical data to evaluate the hospital's staff and patient population in accordance with diversity standards and goals, identifying opportunities and risks.

  • Under the guidance of the DEIB Director, support the full logistical lifecycle of programs/events from start to finish, handling administrative and budget tasks for both virtual and live events, including date and room clearance, on-site event management, invitations, coordination of panelists and speakers, communication, social media scheduling, and post-event follow-up.

  • Partner with the Director and internal communication team to create marketing materials, resources, toolkits, brochures, and annual impact reports.

  • Develop and deliver training sessions for leadership, staff, and clinical teams to enhance cultural competence and mitigate bias.

  • Partner with learning and development teams to integrate DEIB principles into ongoing professional development programs.

  • Work with HR, Talent Acquisition, and leadership teams to embed DEIB into recruitment, retention, and promotion practices.

  • Collaborate with Affinity Groups to amplify diverse voices and address workplace concerns.

  • Act as a liaison between hospital leadership, employees to address equity issues in healthcare access and outcomes.

  • Prepare regular updates, presentations, and reports for leadership.

  • Ensure DEIB initiatives comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Review and update policies to support equity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of hospital operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in DEIB, program management, or Human Resources-related roles, preferably within healthcare.

  • Demonstrated commitment to organizational excellence, program development, and working with diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience facilitating training sessions, workshops, and other educational programs on diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive decision-making.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proven dispute resolution skills.

  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws and regulations.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Advanced skills in analyzing, researching, interpreting, and synthesizing large amounts of data, with the ability to tell a persuasive story behind the data.

  • Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Demonstrated excellence in effective communication (verbal, written, and listening skills), with the ability to create and deliver presentations for diverse audiences.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to multi-task within demanding timeframes.

  • Ability to quickly develop rapport with others and establish positive working relationships, both internally and externally.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a high level of emotional intelligence, discretion with confidential and sensitive information, neutrality, and the ability to lead difficult conversations.

  • Strong knowledge of DEIB principles, health equity, and cultural competence.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical integrity.

Salary Range:

$52.88 - $79.32 USD Hourly
