Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Actuarial Associate II!

About the role

This is an actuarial role focused on pricing and profitability in the Retirement Actuarial group. In the Retirement Actuarial group, we are tasked with quantifying the profitability and risks associated with our annuity product offerings. This is a highly visible and collaborative role that serves to create value for our policyholders and family of Symetra Companies with our DA, FIA, and RILA products.

What you will do



  • Assists with product development, financial reporting, management reporting, experience studies, and actuarial research.
  • May prepare reports, maintain spreadsheets, databases, and other actuarial software.
  • Commitment to self-development, attaining industry knowledge, and passing actuarial exams to achieve actuarial designation.
  • Approximately 75% of time spent on recurring duties and 25% on project related work.

Compensation

Salary Range:$77,600 - $129,400plus eligibility for annual bonus programs

Who you are



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background
  • 1 to 4 years of insurance related actuarial experience.
  • 3 to 5 actuarial exams. Prior to attaining actuarial designations.
  • Experience in actuarial modeling software is a plus (MG-ALFA preferred)
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others including management of projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • High school diploma required
