One of your clients in the Birmingham Market is looking for a Technician to join their NOC Team to support their second shift monitoring. Previous experience monitoring a networking, or working with NOC Tools listed below are preferred.
*Description* THIS NEW OPENING IS FOR: 2nd shift Sunday thru Thursday, 3:00 - 11:30 pm. This position will be on-site at our client's NOC location in Birmingham, AL. We are looking for someone that is willing to learn; follows SOPs; punctual; and detailed oriented. Network Operating Center (NOC) Operators provide the monitoring of network and system security, performance, and backup processes. The NOC Operator will utilize monitoring, alerting, and ticketing tools; utilize, maintain, and expand the knowledge base; must be able to troubleshoot, report on and escalate issues when necessary. This candidate must understand products, alerting and reporting protocols, be able to follow instructions and procedures, and work well alone and in a team environment. Position Responsibilities *Proactively monitor data and communications networks to ensure 24x7 operation and that systems are available to all users *Document and resolve data communications problems *Develop and follow troubleshooting procedures in an effort to resolve problems *Contact users to correct and maintain operations *Escalate problems as needed to tier 2 and 3 support *Records daily statistics *Open, update, and close trouble tickets *Respond to alerts/alarms according to Standard Operating Procedures *Manage trouble-ticketing system ensuring accurate and up-to-date information *Work with internal and external groups during routine deployment *Collaborate with internal and external groups to help identify and resolve issues affecting our services *Develop and maintain NOC policies, procedures and tools Position Qualifications *6 months previous computer mainframe experience and/or 6 months exposure to Control-M, JAMS, and ServiceNow experience preferred. *Ability to solve problems, work independently, and organize work. *Knowledge or previous experience using Control-M, App Dynamics or Splunk a plus. *Previous NOC experience a plus. *Good understanding and experience with monitoring all IT components. *Availability to work 2nd shift: Sunday thru Thursday, 3:00 - 11:30 pm. *This is an in-office position. *Skills* Noc, Network operations, Support, Troubleshooting, Network operations center, Network monitoring, Help desk support, Microsoft office *Top Skills Details* Noc, Network operations, Support, Troubleshooting, Network operations center, Network monitoring, Help desk support, Microsoft office *Additional Skills & Qualifications* This is a very easy going and laid back team, but they are looking for people who can commit to these shift times and who can be counted on to do the job without a lot of supervision. They need to be dependable and trustworthy. If they do a good job, there is a lot of potential for growth, as there could be opportunity for them to convert to full time because as roles open up, this manager does look at contractors first before going outside to hire. *************************Some technologies that would be super helpful for them to have but are note a requirement*************************** Splunk Control M ServiceNow AppDynamics *Previous NOC experience a plus. *Experience Level* Entry Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
