Overview

The Geosptial Specialist will support CAD and GIS data conversion, collaborates on geospatial solutions, and ensures quality project delivery. Key tasks include developing drawings, maintaining project files, and assisting in the creation of new workflows. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ESRI software is required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.



Responsibilities

    Assist with the conversion of data between CAD, GIS and other platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with the Aviation Geospatial Project Managers and Program Directors to deliver GIS data and solutions.
  • Work with staff to ensure successful project delivery, consistent quality, customer satisfaction.
  • Understand the GIS technology that is out in the industry and assist in the development of new applications, workflows, data standards, and solutions for internal and external clients.
  • Provide quality reviews of project documentation including work plans thru final deliverables.
  • Stay up on the technology and help develop a team that can meet our clients' needs.
  • Support the team with CAD/GIS knowledge.
  • Develop exhibit drawings for assigned department.
  • Create plans under the direction of senior staff.
  • Technical development of plans and exhibits.
  • Maintain project drawing files and other associated project documents.
  • Complete red line mark-ups and address design comments related to the site layout and details.
  • Organize and prepare a variety of complex layouts and drawings from written or verbal specifications or from rough or detailed sketches.
  • Follow CAD standards for the project established by the client, firm, and industry.
  • Should be fluent in FAA geospatial standards AC150/5300-16,17 and 18.
  • Use basic quantity and geometry calculations in creating drawings.
  • Perform mathematical calculations and quantity takeoffs.
  • Should be knowledgeable in obtaining and requesting deeds, plats and property information from state, county, and or city governments.
  • Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary with little or no advanced notice.


Qualifications

  • Working knowledge with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D software.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Must be willing to travel to clients and other Woolpert offices.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 2+ years of related work experience or 5+ years of related work experience
  • Certification as a GISP is desired but not required.
  • Should have experience with Global Mapper.
  • Experience with ESRI Software - ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Quickly adapt and respond to industry changes as well as internal initiatives
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, pay attention to detail, and follow-up on assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect privileged client information and documents appropriately.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in a high-volume office environment under pressure of heavy deadlines.
  • Knowledge of correct English usage including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
