Function:

Maintenance Job Summary:The Maintenance Scheduler is the responsible for accurately scheduling work orders for day-to-day work for all craft disciplines (e.g., instrumentation, electrical, rotating machinery, fixed equipment, contractors, etc.), equipment, materials, and outside services at the Port Neal Nitrogen facility. Additionally, the role is responsible for reviewing, organizing, and prioritizing incoming work requests with involvement and influence from Operations. Job Description:

1. Uphold CF's High Environmental, Health, and Safety expectation while maintaining High Craft Quality Performance and Productivity.

2. Review and oversee all notifications to ensure accuracy and timely dissemination of information.

  • Ensure that work requests are assessed, screened, risk evaluated, prioritized, scoped, approved, and communicated to the selected department. Screen notification for correctness, accuracy, and justification of reactive work requests in a timely manner. Performs risk assessment and prioritization of screened work requests.

  • Approve or cancel/Reject notifications not meeting minimum requirements and communicate to work requestor.

3. Develop day to day and weekly maintenance schedules from CF's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) work order "Ready to Schedule" backlog.

  • Ensure the preventive and corrective maintenance activities are aligned & completed with the approved maintenance and inspection strategies.

  • Ensure that critical activities are completed (e.g. Safety Critical Equipment Work Order's) on time, on schedule and within budget.

4. Develop and maintain an amicable working relationship with the facility's various departmental personnel who have a stake in developing and maintaining work schedules.

5. Meet with Port Neal Stake holders on a regular basis to prioritize work and assure it is placed in the schedule.

6. Actively manage working maintenance routine schedule.

7. Manage the completion of preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment availability and regulatory compliance is maintained for equipment defined in the system. This may include creating and editing PM jobs and updating Entity information in CMMS.

  • Ensure that critical activities are completed (e.g. Safety Critical Equipment Work Order's) on time, on schedule and within budget.

  • Ensure preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance work gets completed.

  • Confirms that work order has been completed with sufficient detail to job history reporting and job specification, inspection reports filing & updates into CMMS.

8. Ensure contract service organizations coordinate with CF's Safety and Security departments to assure that vendors adhere to CF's policies and procedures when offsite resources are required to meet scheduled WOs.

9. Lead morning gatekeeper meeting with plant personnel to adequately address incoming work as well as weekly scheduling meeting for schedule alignment.

10. Monitor Maintenance KPIs as necessary in regard to schedule compliance, resource utilization, and equipment availability.

Position Requirements:

1. Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited university with two years of industry experience, or five years of craft planning experience in an industrial setting, or ten years of verifiable scheduling experience demonstrated in the chemical industry, or a minimum of ten years maintenance or operations experience and strong mechanical/instrumentation/electrical abilities. Experience utilizing various Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and scheduling software applications. Computer proficiency in Avantis, SAP, Primavera, Microsoft Projects, Excel, and Word desired.

2. In-depth knowledge of process equipment with the ability to trouble-shoot, diagnose failures and recognize damage mechanisms in process equipment.

3. Knowledge of the ammonia process and contained equipment is preferred.
