Description

The Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Research Scientist to contribute to cutting-edge research in Neuroscience. This position involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of faculty, researchers, and graduate students, with a focus on rodent electrophysiology. The Associate Research Scientist will be responsible for leading and contributing to innovative research projects, with the opportunity for professional growth and eventual promotion to a Principal Investigator (PI) role.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and collaborate on research projects in Neuroscience.

* Design, conduct, and analyze experimental studies, with a focus on rodent electrophysiology.

* Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.

* Supervise and mentor junior researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students.

* Foster collaboration by working closely with other departments and research centers.

* Manage laboratory operations, including maintaining protocols, ensuring data integrity, and overseeing compliance with institutional policies.


Qualifications

* Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field.

* Demonstrated expertise in rodent electrophysiology.

* Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

* Proven ability to lead research teams and mentor junior researchers.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
