Overview
Under supervision of Management, the Data Engineer assists with data design, management, and development of the data platform components in a cloud-based data environment. Central to the success of the data maturity at Logix, this individual helps the Data and Analytics team in developing technology solutions that meet the business needs while ensuring sustainability, scalability, performance, and security of data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Administers and supports cloud data infrastructure including access control, responsiveness/speed, monitoring health and vulnerability, and security and resource group management.
- Contributes to data performance including database architecture, database design, logical and physical structure, and SQL analysis.
- Responsible for assisting with the collection and storage of data from various data sources.
- Creates SQL queries, develops APIs for data capture, transforms/translates JSON and XML into data tables, and understands and can assist with researching new methods of capturing and manipulating data into a usable format.
- Performs analysis, design, modeling, and development of a fully integrated and related data environment within the Logix Data & Analytics organization.
- Assists with the development of end-to-end data lifecycle solutions that take data from source systems through the data lake and into the central repository and data warehouse environments.
- Adheres to and implements change control processes and designs a data lineage map to comply with data regulations both existing and proposed.
- Supports access to the Data Lake and Central Data Repository for any changes, updates, or additions of data processes to these environments.
- Documents and diagrams data stack processes, develops data warehouse and database objects, schedules, documents, and runs ETL pipeline jobs; develops and provides reporting on usage and growth of data objects.
- Assists the Data Governance Program Manager in determining rules used in the development of processes that ingest, move, clean, and store data.
- Assists with developing quality assurance processes and test plans.
- Conducts root-cause analysis to remediate issues.
- Assists with data cleansing, troubleshooting, and validation of new/existing data sources in the data warehouse.
Qualifications
Education
- Min/Preferred: Preferred
- Education Level: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
- Description: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in statistics, data analysis, data development, database administration, or information management.
Experience
- Minimum Years of Experience: 3
- Preferred Years of Experience: 5
- Comments: 3-5 years of experience in database administration, job scheduling, and/or data integration projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- Fluent in SQL and/or similar database languages such as PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of data warehouses, OLAP cubes, SQL Server Integration and Reporting services as well as a firm grasp of Business Intelligence concepts and tools.
- Expertise in one or more programming languages is desirable (Java, Python)
- Experience with data types such as JSON or XML is a plus.
- Understands the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Experience creating data maps (source to target mapping).
- Understanding of concepts such as MDM, Metadata Management, Data Quality and Profiling.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into SQL code, SSIS packages or other technical artifacts.
- Preferred experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure.
- Experience with creating data flow diagrams and data models.
- Ability to clearly communicate with managers and associates at all levels.
- Experience with financial systems as well as an understanding of Banking and Credit Unions is a plus.
- Experience with SCRUM or Sprint methodologies preferred.

Pay Range
USD $98,577.25 - USD $152,794.75 /Yr.
