Position Summary
The Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Training Specialist position located within the Cancer Research Training & Education Coordination ( CRTEC) and UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center Administration teams will provide high-level expertise in coordinating and managing training programs for predoctoral and postdoctoral students as well as develop and supervise educational programs and opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. This position will work closely with the CRTEC Program Manager in creating and managing training and educational programs to ensure trainees, interns, fellows, faculty, and staff have access to a broad range of learning opportunities.
The Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Training Specialist will also coordinate and facilitate the programs and will function as the contact for all communications related to their assigned programs. This position will also work closely with the CRTEC Program Manager, Associate Director and Assistant Director to develop and track budgets for these programs.
Ability to work with multiple departments and leaders across the Centers and within School of Medicine will be necessary. This position will also coordinate awareness of the programs to other departments, universities, collaborative groups, as well as with the local, state, and broader communities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Project management and budget experience. Possess professional business communications skills with proficiency in tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook. Proficiency using MS productivity applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point, and OneDrive. Ability to independently make sound decisions and multi-task with weekly and monthly deadlines. Ability to assess and resolve complexed and non-routine problems and inquires as needed.
