We are seeking a highly motivated Lead UX Designer and Usability Engineer to collaborate with multiple software development teams to drive the creation of exceptional user experiences for cutting-edge products. This role focuses on new product development across diverse areas such as automation, analytics, data management, lab management, configuration management, and AI-assited test and measurement. The ideal candidate will combine a user-centric approach with technical expertise to design and deliver intuitive, efficient, and delightful solutions that meet user needs and business goals.


Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver compelling user experiences for software products that align with user needs and business objectives.
  • Conduct user research to identify pain points, behaviors, and preferences, translating findings into actionable insights.
  • Develop user personas to guide design decisions and product development.
  • Create wireframes, low-fidelity prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to visualize concepts and solutions.
  • Conduct usability testing to evaluate and refine designs, ensuring user feedback is incorporated.
  • Lead usability reviews with software development teams to enhance design implementation and user satisfaction.
  • Advocate for the user in all stages of product development, ensuring designs are intuitive and accessible.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, software engineering, and QA, to integrate usability best practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve design strategies and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Lead Usability Engineer or UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product designs.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, UI Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Expertise in conducting user research, developing personas, and creating wireframes and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Proven experience in usability testing and conducting usability reviews with software development teams.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of usability principles, user-centered design methodologies, and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and trade-offs to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with software development processes, including Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of automation, analytics, data management, and AI applications is highly desirable.
