Symetra has a great opportunity to join our team as an Investment Operations Analyst Intern!

About the Internship:

The Investment Operations Analyst will provide overall day-to-day investment operations support to the Company's Investment Portfolio Managers, traders and Finance department. The primary responsibilities of this position include the back and middle office functions of investment operations.

Symetra's Internship Program for Summer 2025 is entirely remote - all interns will learn and work in a virtual setting. The internship duration is 12 weeks.

Potential Responsibilities:



  • Working on projects that improve investment processes


  • Helping to ensure investment data is of excellent quality by assisting with data analysis and reconciliations


  • Creating reports in Excel that communicate investment positions or transactions to internal customers


  • Learning about the investment infrastructure at a registered investment advisor and how investing for insurance companies works


  • Shadowing team members to understand the various roles and responsibilities in Investment Operations



Requirements:



  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field


  • Interest in Investment Management, Operations/Reporting and Financial Accounting


  • Continuously exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative


  • Willingness to learn


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills


  • Experience with Excel required


  • Excellent project management skills
