Job Purpose

Alcon has an ambitious digital vision and this leader will be a key player in driving the evolution and strategy resulting in a culture of innovation in Manufacturing. They will activate an integrated global team across manufacturing and IT to focus on elevating the use of smart technologies to enable production acceleration with quality. This position will create and deliver an on-going manufacturing digital technology roadmap that will support the global execution of large, complex digital projects across a global manufacturing footprint. In close partnership with IT, this role is responsible for building and leading the manufacturing digital innovation center of excellence through Smart Technology implementations, ensuring data and information is easily accessible throughout the organization, protecting company data and achieving cost-effective operations. This position serves as a senior member of the Manufacturing Excellence leadership team and is in the unique position to provide insights on key technological direction to influence manufacturing's overall technological direction.

Essential Job Functions
  • Accelerate manufacturing technology and ensure global scalability and local usability of the services for application across Alcon's manufacturing sites.
  • Lead the assessment and implementation of manufacturing's smart technology (digital and automation) standards and tools to enable top quartile manufacturing delivery, within Alcon's enterprise digital and quality standards.
  • Centralize digital technology resources & capabilities in a community of practice across manufacturing to elevate proficiency and drive momentum and adoption while always looking for improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and prioritize data insight opportunities by prioritizing extracting data to produce conclusive models capable of identifying trends and patterns in performance and efficiency to enable better insights and business results.
  • Adhere to enterprise technology and data strategy & governance to effectively manage risk while optimizing access.
  • Lead through collaboration with IT partners, manufacturing leaders, and external industry experts to ensure the most advanced solutions are successfully implemented with strong adoption and meaningful outcomes.

Standard Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, management, statistics, data science, analytics or related fields; graduate/advanced degree related to data & analytics is a plus
  • Experience:
    • Operational Excellence: 12+ years of progressive growth in data, advanced analytics, business intelligence with comprehensive knowledge of tools and techniques, including 8+ years of demonstrated people leadership
    • Technical expertise: Deep understanding of new and emerging trends in the digital environment with ability to translate into business opportunities and successfully integrate into strategic plans.
    • Business partnership: Experience successfully leading cross functional teams and managing relationships with internal customers
    • Vendor management: Experience of working with multiple third party vendors, strong customer focus, with knowledge of the life cycle of outsourcing to third party vendor solutions, expertise in contracting, negotiating, and change management
    • Change management: Proven ability to understand and influence stakeholders within and across the function, building trust and driving the change agenda leveraging both the formal and the informal elements of the organization
    • Change leadership: Proven ability to deal with uncertainty, adjusting course as the circumstances change, without jeopardizing the end goals and the achievement of the strategic objectives. Effectively cut through complexity and ambiguity, prioritize effectively, set clear goals and operate in an agile fashion.
    • Cultural Champion: Build and nurture a culture of organizational maturation and learning growth, one that values continuous improvement of business processes while engaging associates to reach their full potential.
