Role Overview

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to support our Specialty Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY.

As a Maintenance Planner you will have the following Responsibilities:

* Responsibility for initial review of incoming work orders.

* Perform field walk throughs to identify job requirements.

* Identify safety hazards that could be encountered during the performance of a work order.

* QA/QC jobs and job requirements.

* Procure equipment and specialized tools required to perform a job.

* Gather necessary documentation to perform a job.

* Determines/arranges parts required to perform a job.

* Plans parts for projects to maximize efficiency.

* Compiles information into a package for the skilled trades.

* Coordinates priority requirements with the management team.

* Make sure work orders are closed when completed.

* Participates in outage planning activities such as scope of work, scheduling, coordination, execution, continuous improvement, and risk assessment.

* Communicates with outside contractors on specific work orders.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

* Ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings.

* Experienced with CMMS systems, SAP system experience a plus.

* Computer skills, excel, word, ability to perform internet searches and research.

* Ability to communicate effectively.

* Highly motivated.

* Ability to learn and apply maintenance best practices.

* Ability to organize and plan tasks.

* Self-directing with the ability to work independently towards department goals.

* Experience or the ability to learn environmental requirements and record keeping. MonMact/RCRA.

* Experience working in the skilled trades a plus.

Education and/or certification requirements:

* High School diploma or equivalent.

* Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.

* Supervisory experience desirable.

* Work experience in the skilled trades.

* Consideration for any equivalent combination of education/experience.
