  • Temporary
    staff employees are ineligible to receive benefits (leave, health coverage,
    State service credit, etc.). They are, however, covered by Worker's
    Compensation provisions.

    However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions, or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. If they average 30 or more hours per week over a designated measurement period, they will be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, and will be notified of instructions.

Pay Rate $1300
Minimum Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Experience teaching and/or mentoring youth, teens, or young adults
  • Experience working with children in grades 5th - 8th
  • Demonstrated experience in effective communication with parents and families
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution strategies
  • Must pass a criminal background check and complete Youth Protection Training with an 80% or higher
  • Availability for mandatory orientation training before the camp season
  • Knowledge and/or training in the content area of the camp


Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
**First Aid/ CPR certification
** NC teaching licensure
** Background working in a Summer Camp environment
**Proficiency in utilizing advanced features of the Google Suite, showcasing a high level of competency in digital tools and collaboration platforms
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging, well-organized lesson plans for a five-day camp, incorporating active and experiential learning.
  • Differentiate lessons for a wide range of abilities in grades 5th - 8th
  • Create a comprehensive list of necessary supplies and ensure approval for a supply stipend.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive environment for campers.
  • Blend education with fun through dynamic teaching strategies.
  • Address and resolve conflicts or disciplinary issues effectively, keeping the Program Director informed.
  • Lead camp activities with the support of Camp Counselors.
  • Participate in a mandatory live online training session conducted via Zoom.
  • Cultivate a positive, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor, emphasizing a dedicated commitment to fostering a supportive environment for children and youth.
  • Exhibit professionalism, accountability, and adept interpersonal skills consistently when interacting with campers, fellow staff members, and parents.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills when engaging with staff, parents, and campers to ensure clarity and build positive relationships.

  1. Greek Mythology Odyssey: Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, and more! This exciting Greek Mythology camp invites campers to explore the fascinating world of ancient gods, heroes, and legendary creatures. Throughout the week, participants will dive into captivating myths while engaging in hands-on activities across art, science, music, drama, and games. Campers will embark on an unforgettable journey filled with creative projects, thrilling challenges, and stories that bring the magic of Greek mythology to life.
August 4- 8 2025


  1. DIY Crafting & Design: Join us for a week packed with hands-on artistic exploration, where campers will bring their imagination to life through a variety of engaging projects. Our campers will master essential crafting techniques and design principles. Campers will enjoy the chance to explore self-expression, innovation, and skill-building. Whether you're a crafting enthusiast or a newcomer to the DIY scene, our camp is the perfect canvas for every aspiring artist to flourish.

  2. Graphic and Interior Design: Graphic Designer or Interior Designer? Why not both? These two creative career paths, although fundamentally different, are essentially about providing visual solutions. In this camp, campers will learn how to maximize space while making eye-catching designs. Campers will learn the fundamentals including space, lines, colors, textures, patterns, and emerging industry trends. Campers will leave the week with an original small scale model of their own room design and a virtual graphic design piece of their choosing.
