Corporate Finance Intern

The Corporate FP&A team at Worthington Enterprises is hiring a Finance Intern. In this role you will report to the Corporate FP&A Manager, while also interacting with business partners and various finance teams across the business. This position is responsible for regular and ad-hoc analysis of business performance, financial metrics, and market intelligence, as well as preparation and presentation of financial forecasts. This role requires a dynamic, driven, and proactive candidate with the ability to work 20-25 hours minimum during the school year, and full-time during the summer onsite at our corporate office located in Columbus, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with finance teams to provide timely reporting and analysis of financial data and key metrics used in business decisions.
  • Assists in the creation of executive level reporting packages to support senior leadership team meetings and quarterly business reviews.
  • Participation in forecasts and the annual budget process, partnering with finance teams across the business to provide support.
  • Participation in the FP&A team's transformation/continuous improvement efforts
  • Compilation and analysis of key macro level financial data.
  • Working with the corporate M&A team on peer analysis and creating financial models for potential acquisitions targets.
  • Preparing and presenting ad hoc analyses as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work a part-time schedule during school year and full-time schedule during summer break
  • Working toward a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other related field
  • Demonstrates a high level of discretion and professionalism
  • Outstanding track record of academic achievement
  • Familiarity with general corporate finance concepts and financial statements.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with colleagues across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively complete complex problem solving, including issue identification, analysis, solution proposal, and implementation.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize a range of simultaneous, competing, and time sensitive tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
