DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker at Promised Land State Park, you will ensure the park's 3,000-acre operations run smoothly. Your responsibilities include:

  • Performing light carpentry and plumbing while maintaining park facilities.
  • Cleaning sanitary facilities in picnic areas and campgrounds are effective.
  • Painting and staining park signs and structures.
  • Assisting tradespeople in cutting lumber, mixing concrete, and renovating buildings.
  • Using a chainsaw to remove hazardous trees and trim branches.
  • Mowing grass to maintain the park's appearance.
  • Handling garbage collection and disposal efficiently.

Your contributions are essential for maintaining the park's facilities and creating a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment for all visitors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal, full-time employment without benefits.
  • Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:
  • This position require possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
