DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Service Occupations Teacher (Warehouse Operations/Material Handling), you will provide vocational instruction in warehouse operations and material handling to inmate students at SCI Phoenix. In this position you will evaluate inmate potential for consideration and placement within the program's curriculum and adapt materials to meet the needs of students. You will provide classroom and shop instruction, assign, and evaluate homework, develop and administer tests, and provide a final evaluation for each enrolled student. You will also monitor inmate behavior, establish classroom rules and procedures, and discipline disruptive students by taking appropriate corrective action and documenting said actions. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Education equivalent to high school graduation and two years wage earning experience beyond the completed apprenticeship period in the specified parenthetical; or
- If there is no approved apprenticeship period for the specified parenthetical, education equivalent to high school graduation and three years of wage earning experience in the specified parenthetical.
- Please Note: The specified parenthetical for this posting is Warehouse Operations/Materiel Handling. There is no approved apprenticeship period for this parenthetical.
Special Requirements:
- Possession of or eligibility for a current Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational Certificate 1 or 2 for the specified parenthetical; or
- Possession of or eligibility for a current Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational Intern Certificate for the specified parenthetical; or
- Eligibility for a Pennsylvania Department of Education Emergency Certificate for the specified parenthetical.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of training academy in Elizabethtown, PA required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
