THE POSITION

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 to fill a seasonal, full-time position at Little Pine State Park in Lycoming County. This position performs duties that are routinely executed seven days a week and will be scheduled to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed, for optimum park operations, and to meet seasonal needs.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position is responsible to the Park Manager and Administrative Assistant for the operation of the park office and contact station at Little Pine State Park. These are the central points of the park where all park users receive information and instructions. An employee in this class performs clerical work of moderate complexity which requires the use of typing skills and the processing of a variety of documents including the verification of information, performing arithmetic calculations, coding and assisting the public. Work may also involve providing training and guidance to new employees and fulfilling a lead worker role for routine clerical operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal, full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This is a seven day per week operation, weekends and holidays are required.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly rate of $18.05 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
