Senior Manager of Technical Accounting Location: Carolinas (Remote/Hybrid Flexibility, Relocation Assistance Available) Company Overview: We are partnering with a prestigious, publicly traded client in the Carolinas to find an experienced Senior Manager of Technical Accounting. Position Overview: As the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's accounting policies and ensuring compliance with GAAP. You will collaborate closely with senior business leaders across the organization to evaluate technical accounting issues, provide insights on accounting policy impacts, and drive initiatives that support financial reporting and audit efforts. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information as the company continues to scale. Responsibilities: Interpret and apply accounting policies across the organization Evaluate complex technical accounting issues and perform research Provide insight on the impact of accounting policies on various transactions and business operations Collaborate with the SEC reporting team to ensure accurate filings and compliance with SEC regulations Manage audit efforts and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on all technical accounting matters Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes Qualifications: CPA designation (required) Master's in Accounting (preferred); Bachelor's in Accounting (required) 7+ years of relevant experience, with significant experience in technical accounting and working with publicly traded companies/clients Experience working with Big 4 audit/assurance firms, specifically with publicly traded clients Strong expertise in GAAP and technical accounting matters Proven ability to manage and develop staff Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills Ability to relocate to or travel to the South Carolina region at least once a month Demonstrated job stability and career progression Vaco values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
