Collections Specialist

The Collections Specialist is responsible for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts through correspondence (via email and phone) within a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.

Job Scope

  • Provide excellent customer service to Field Service Center teams through clear communication and follow-up regarding accounts
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Field Service Center teams, Cash Application and other Shared Services team members
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Company's Total Quality Management process with the goal of reducing costs, improving cycle time, increasing sales, and overall customer satisfaction
  • Carry out the policies and procedures of Company

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review assigned accounts on a daily basis to prevent late payments and resolve past-due balances
  • Collect outstanding receivables on a daily basis through, email, phone and written communication and follow up in a timely manner
  • Maintain documentation of customer correspondence
  • Partner with the field locations and customers to solve discrepancies, reconcile account adjustments and obtain necessary information to facilitate the payment process
  • Assist in the resolution of cash application issues identified by the customer
  • Reconcile Customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances due
  • Meet defined department goals and activity metrics
  • Engage in analysis of account information and makes recommendations for problem resolution or process improvement

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of collections, customer service, or accounting experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
