Position Title: Prep
Wage: $20.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm QPS Employment Group has a great Prep position at a company in Pardeeville, WI. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire. Prep Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Hand scraping cheeses. - Rubbing spices on cheeses. - Hand smearing or painting of rind washed cheese. - Hand cutting or using machinery to cut cheese to company specifications. - Labeling individual cheese to company specifications. - Assembling boxes for final product. - Placing final product and sealing the boxes with seal machine. - Attend staff and department meetings. - Actively participate in initiatives that improve workplace safety, reduce waste and improve factory efficiencies. - May be required to work overtime if deemed necessary with occasional weekend work. - Performs all other duties as assigned. - Report any and all injuries to your supervisor or manager at the time of injury. - Complete all required training in a timely manner - Adheres to safety guidelines and complies with all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). - Attends safety and department meetings and completes all required training in a timely manner. - Identifies and reports potential safety hazards to ensure a safe working environment. - Adhere to company food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA). - Performs all other duties as assigned. - Take product samples for Quality Assurance Department. - JD Edwards system entry. - Complete pallet cards and control point paperwork. - Move the final product for the material handlers. Prep Requirements: - Process flow knowledge of cheesemaking, prep, and packaging. - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers. - Basic computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work with automated equipment. - Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure. - Ability to work in cross-functional teams. - History of good attendance. - Good organization and problem-solving skills. - Detail-oriented nature. - Ability to work with significant supervision. - No travel required. - Constantly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and controls. - Constantly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. - Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. - Occasionally pushing/pulling max force of 40 pounds. - Constantly reaching. - Constantly required to stand. - Frequently required to walk, bend, twist, and squat. - Constantly required to talk and hear. - Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus naturally or with correction. monroe@qpsemployment.com About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the Midwest.
