About the Role:

Join the Materials Management team at Boston Scientific in Maple Grove MN as a Buyer/Planner III in our Purchasing department! Boston Scientific is a medical device manufacturer delivering millions of medical solutions annually across the globe. Maple Grove produces both finished goods and sub-assemblies assisting the plant network, providing many unique challenges for Materials Management. Be a part of a hard-working and fun team, while tackling critical supply chain opportunities & responsibilities.This role is responsible for supporting our materials teams by working with Planning to understand build plans, attaining raw materials to support projected requirements and completing objectives/ milestones in support for total integration.

Your Responsibilities will Include:



  • Materials Administration: Generates, adjusts and expedites purchase orders based on MRP (material requirements planning) along with pertinent information being used to run the business, i.e. schedule adherence, S&OP, etc.
  • Generates buy action based on authorized spending amount; Collaborates with the Planning Team to maintain optimal inventory levels and find the proper priorities for material support; Tracks and monitors purchase orders, keeping informed of any problems/delays and advertises any impacts/constraints to the core team.
  • Supplier Management: Monitors and advertises quality and delivery performance to the supplier and Global Sourcing Team; Responsible to resolve supplier related problems (works closely with vendors to assure a positive and professional relationship always establishing and maintaining open lines of communication); Controls assets at suppliers, disposing of obsolete assets and monitoring the age of others.
  • Total Quality: Reviews and approves all raw material document change orders; Maintains accurate purchasing master data, AVL, info record, etc.; Interfaces with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning and Quality to ensure timely throughput and proper prioritization of materials received.
  • Inventory Management: Typically manages moderate to high complexity commodities and expense items; Formulates purchasing decisions to achieve 100% internal customer service, targeted inventory safety stock and least total cost material procurement; Identifies expired, excess and obsolete materials and dispositions the material appropriately.
  • Planning Management: Analyze and inform supply chain performance and diagnose key improvement areas (e.g., forecast accuracy, supply variability, Inventory DIOH, service level, backorder, EE&O etc.). Support the monthly Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SI&OP) processes to ensure uniform adoption across the divisional supply chain planning groups. Support process adherence and master data accuracy for demand planning, replenishment and inventory planning and optimization within the scope of SI&OP leveraging the Kinaxis - Rapid Response solution, a recognized leader in supply chain planning software.



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree: preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, inventory management or planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to inform at all levels of the organization as well as with external vendors
  • Experience working in Excel and SAP/Rapid Response (or comparable ERP) system



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in SAP/Rapid Response (or comparable ERP) system

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
