Acquisition Specialist

Job Purpose:

Experienced Acquisition Specialist skilled in coordinating with stakeholders across the acquisition and financial community. Proficient in documenting action items, developing requirements aligned with FAR, DFARS, and NMCARS, and conducting system testing, including regression and user acceptance. Known for ensuring compliance and supporting efficient acquisition processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and collaborate with various personnel in the acquisition/financial community, including offices under the Assistant Secretary of the Navy Financial Management and Comptroller, Resource Sponsors, Program Managers (PM), Audit Manager (AM), Program Support Team members/ Functional / Technical team leads, system interface partners, customers / end user representatives, workshops / events, working groups, ad-hoc teams, etc.
  • Document all conversations, action items, responsible party, due date and keep all stakeholders informed
  • Review project backlog items and system functionality including advice and requirements development
  • Development of test scripts and user scenarios, including researching and describing business process details based on DoD and DON policies and procedures, including the FAR, DFARS, and NMCARS
  • Regression, interface and user acceptance testing
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in DoD acquisition.
  • Navy experience preferred
  • Must have experience interpreting acquisition regulations, such as, FAR, DFARS, NMCARS etc., and reviewing / advising / developing CWS requirements; facilitating communications between acquisition and IT personnel; analyzing business processes and providing recommendations and constructive guidance in designing more efficient ways of performing tasks
  • Must be able to clear background check
