Device Physics Intern (Summer 2025)

Basic Job Scope:

Expected Length of Internship:



  • 3 month (Summer 2025)
  • As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, as long as it doesn't interfere with the essential functions of the position.


Education/Experience:



  • Master's degree in mathematics, computer science, material science, solid-state physics, astronomy, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field
  • Must currently be enrolled in a PhD program fulfilling a graduation requirement for the degree.
  • First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university.


Required Skills/Competencies:



  • Experience in numerical modeling of complex physical problems
  • Demonstrated ability to develop functional codes in one of the object-oriented programming languages
  • Clear and concise communication skills, verbal and written


Basic Internship Scope (Project):



  • Participate in development of new and troubleshooting of existing simulation tools and perform device and process simulations against experimentally observed phenomena.
  • Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.


Estimated Salary Range:



  • $39 Hourly.
