The training supervisor is responsible for the factory training strategy, including designing, developing and facilitating technical training programs as well as provide training, coaching, and assessments in support of factory training systems. Manages training systems through analysis, design, development, and assessment of technical training programs and tools. Develops and implements processes, programs, and procedures to strengthen organization performance in support of business objectives. Partners with Business Leaders, ME Leaders, and other Training and Development professionals to develop training solutions to deliver results in support of our Manufacturing Excellence journey. Provides direct supervision to Trainers and Training coordinators (if applicable).

Manages Training Strategy, Systems, and Process

  • Develops and executes site training strategy in accordance with the T&P functional L&OD strategic roadmap
  • Develop and manage Training Matrices, Competency Matrices, Training/Learning Plans, and Training Documentation in support of site training requirements
  • Provide expertise in training needs assessment, training design, adult learning strategies/delivery, post-training evaluations following E&T methods
  • Partner with managers to assess and analyze learning needs based on performance, talent planning and needs assessment data. Identify learning solutions for technical business needs
  • Implement standard templates, training standards, digital tools to ensure facility is aligned to overall strategic direction of NCE including TPM/Lean stages of the journey
  • Develop and manage site Training Budget
  • Oversee site technical skills development programs for operators and skilled trades
  • Assess and monitor the effectiveness of all learning and development initiatives against predefined metrics

Project Management

  • Design, Develop and Deliver training solutions to drive business results using the A.D.D.I.E. Model
  • Compile data and analyze past and current year training requirements to help determine training priorities and best use of budgets. Assess effectiveness of overall training and impact to performance and adjusts as needed
  • Manage external vendor relationships, as necessary following preferred vendor standards
  • Partner with corporate Learning and Organization Development to deploy training solutions
  • Participate in Market Education and Training Pillar ET work groups as requested
  • Identify and apply for Local, State, and Federal Training Grants and Funds to offset training costs

Training Methodology

  • Deliver training, provide coaching, and complete assessments to ensure facility is progressing according to site Manufacturing Excellence implementation plan and OMP Objectives
  • Lead development of site Competence Building Plan
  • Develop Training and Development Implementation Plan
  • Manage the roll out of Training and Development Systems and tools according to Manufacturing Excellence Journey including Competency Matrices, Line Mapping, and training plans
  • Implement Measures according to Reference Guide and local training needs

Requirement:

  • BS/BA in Human Resources, Training and Development, Organization Development, or a related field desired
  • Position requires up to 5% travel

Experience:

  • 3 years of proven success as an internal and/or external training and development practitioner working with mid-level to senior level managers in an operations environment
  • Experience working is part of a large, global organization is preferred
  • Factory or Distribution Center training experience preferred

Skills:

  • Candidates should have program, facilitation, and course design skills and experience with technical training programs ideally in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with learning management solutions and/or the use of databases to support training and skill progression if highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in working with all levels of organization.
  • Expert consulting skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Highly creative, innovative, and motivated.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, proofreading, editing and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated to take the initiative to find solutions.
  • Demonstrated Time and Project management experience required.
  • Skilled at multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Requires customer orientation, commitment to flawless execution and detail orientation.
