Description

The Department of Medicine is hiring a Procurement Specialist to support purchasing activities across various entities, including departments, divisions, research labs, and units. Acting as the primary point of contact for procurement needs, in this role you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and reporting on purchasing processes. Key responsibilities include processing purchases, providing travel support, and handling reimbursement requests for faculty and staff, all while ensuring compliance with University policies. You will serve as a liaison between campus units and vendors to facilitate timely and accurate processing of purchases and payments.

Hourly range: $28.30-$54.74

Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 - 3 years Purchasing
  • Analytical skills necessary to evaluate the cost effectiveness of purchasing options.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to read and interpret terms and conditions of contracts.
  • Working level of proficiency in the use of standard spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Some knowledge of the organization's departments and operations required in order to meet their procurement needs
  • Understands procurement policies and systems such as Procurement, Travel systems, etc.
  • Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, with high degree of accuracy.
