We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr Visual & UX Designer on our Marketing & Membership Experience team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office. As a Sr Visual & UX Designer, you will create on-brand visual and user experiences (UX) artifacts for digital applications based on brand standards and other creative guidelines and collaboration with product development and marketing colleagues to create materials that align with target audience needs, product requirements, and business strategies. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop digital materials and assets that align with business needs and brand standards
- Design and execute creative assets and communication material for digital deployment to support overall product strategy
- Produce visual deliverables including but not limited to: multimedia, websites, presentations, design patterns, and infographics
- Illustrate concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts to achieve desired results
- Work closely with design team members and Architects and with other departments including Product Development, Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Editorial to gather information and materials to create designs that align with brand standards and other creative guidelines, reflecting our customer's needs to achieve business goals
- Provide design oversight and own the design review process, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards, align with the business strategy, and maintain brand integrity
- Offer guidance and support to early-career design team members, fostering skill development and maintaining high-quality creative output throughout the team
Create UX/UI deliverables effectively engaging our audiences
- Create UX/UI deliverables that aid internal audiences' understanding of enhanced or new experiences, principally prototypes, wireframes, and online style guidelines
- Work with product development, data analytics, and marketing research to ensure that the work connects with the audience and achieves objectives
May include other responsibilities as assigned RESPONSIBILITIES:
- A Bachelor's Degree required; a degree in Graphic Design or Visual Communication preferred
- 5+ years in visual design experience, with a focus on working in cross functional teams
- 5+ years UX design experience, from working in an agency or within an organization's UX team, preferred
- Conceptual thinker with ability to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into digital layouts, design patterns, and other types of digital designs
- Ability to collaborate with product development, marketing, development, and other team members, i.e., marketing director, copywriter, production manager, photographer, etc.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrable proficiency with UX software in design (Sketch, Zeplin, Balsamiq, Adobe XD, or other tools) and prototyping software (Axure, UXPin, InVision and other evolving toolsets)
- Ability to apply understanding of visual design principles, especially typography, color, iconography, and information hierarchy
- Ability to follow branding guidelines to ensure that visual assets across all media are consistent with AMA brand identities and standards
- Discipline and ability to self-organize on tasks and projects, regardless of the selected delivery methodology
- Ability to communicate about design in a clear and effective manner; able to confidently present work to team during reviews, and able to incorporate feedback gracefully
- Diplomatic and professional presence and demeanor
The salary range for this position is $92,820-$123,420. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
