This position is responsible for supporting the product troubleshooting activities that require technical mechanical/electronic / electrical experience and knowledge. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the quality system in accordance with documented procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

The incumbent is authorized to identify and report nonconformance in materials, components, products, processes, equipment, facilities, and other parts of the quality system; to initiate corrective action, where applicable; and to identify and initiate corrective action of nonconformance in documentation, design, equipment, facilities, and processes, and other activities covered by the quality system.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

  • Conducts routine and non-routine analysis, including but not limited to biochemical and chemical analysis, of raw materials, in-process items and finished product according to established operating procedures.

  • Compiles data for documentation of test procedures that may include stability program testing and formulation studies. Fully documents the product analysis process and generates the final analysis report.

  • Calibrates and maintains lab and analytical equipment.

  • Reviews data obtained for compliance to specifications and reports abnormalities. Revises and updates standard operating procedures as needed.

  • Performs the analysis of returned products to determine root cause of malfunction or failure. These analyses may be taken to the component level of the product.

  • Supports the development and improvement of product analysis methods and procedures through identification of change to implementation of change.

  • Analyzes assemblies and products from manufacturing on an as-needed basis.

  • Supports complaint investigations and the resulting preventive and/or corrective actions associated with the field reports, returns, and complaints as initiated through the CAPA system.

  • Performs other duties as may be required by management.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • Assists in the implementation of the corporation's quality goals and objectives such as LBS.

  • Effectively communicates with company personnel, customers, subcontractors, regulatory agency representatives, and third party organizations.

  • Perform as "Lead/Head" technician for a product line

  • Provide training for new hires and cross training for existing employees as identified by management.

  • Develops test routines, fixtures, and/or test processes, either manual or automated - as required.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs Automated Test Stations - as required

  • May perform special projects on analytical and instrument problem solving.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Electronic circuit and component analysis experience.

  • Experience using electronic, measurement, and computerized test equipment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • AA or Bachelors in a technical field, or equivalent education, implantable medical devices experience and/or military experience.

  • A minimum of six (6) years of related experience in the medical device industry.

  • Experience performing material and component analysis.

  • Experience using mechanical or electronic measuring equipment (microscope, X-ray, or SEM systems).

  • Ability to act as the "Lead/Head" analyst for a product line or possess equivalent related experience in the medical device industry.

  • Prior experience with United States and international quality and regulatory requirements.

Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the hourly rate for this position is $25 - $35 per hour + discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location.
