Job Summary

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated programs or projects to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through line managers and supervisors. Develops and provides leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Quality Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the cost, technical and schedule performance of programs or projects. Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion to include participation in contract negotiations with the customer; has value stream responsibility. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities leads program review sessions with the customer to discuss cost, schedule and technical performance.
  • Leads or participates in proposal preparation, business plans, proposal work statements and development of technical and administrative specifications, operating budgets and the financial terms and conditions of the contract. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product development, integration and test.
  • Acts as owner of the value stream - establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules; identifies program problems and obtains solutions such as allocation of resources or changing contract specifications. Directs the work of Stakeholders assigned to the program or project from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
  • Sustains existing programs through collaboration with operations and building strong customer relationships through contact and service.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Technical discipline.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Skills and Competencies

  • Communicates effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
  • Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups.
  • Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Skills and Work
  • Experience leading large scale Build-To-Print through Design-to-Spec programs with prominent Aerospace and Space OEM companies.

  • Communicates effectively and regularly on statuses and expectations of the program, both internally and externally.

  • Leads formal presentations on program progress, status, and other topics to customers and internal stakeholders. Leads calls or in-person meetings for internal and external personnel.

  • Proficient in decision-making capabilities to ensure the program adheres to the timeline and budget.
  • Ability to solve problem solutions to complex situations affecting the program. Address and resolve conflicts that arise during the program.

  • Strong economic fluency from both internal and external perspectives.

  • Applies strong critical thinking skills and is agile in solution sets based on situational awareness ("working in the grey").

  • Proactively identifies and solves problems (such as economic or timeline issues, should they arise) and is skilled at assembling and leading an Integrated Product Team (IPT).

  • Cultivate strong relationships with both their team members and their customers.

  • Ability to organize and delegate tasks. Has time management skills to set goals, milestones, and timelines to ensure the program's success.

Physical Requirements Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Work Environment Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Generally does not have a staff.
  • May indirectly supervise fewer than 50 Stakeholders assigned in various other areas of the business.
  • Programs total value is at under 50 Million.
