*** This is a Temporary Position from 1/01/2025 to 6/30/2027 *** Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellowship provides mentoring and additional training that will prepare a recent doctoral graduate for an independent position in teaching, direct services, or research. Performs other duties as needed. The Post Doctoral Fellow performs highly skilled, technical biochemical and molecular biology procedures and analyzes the results. Also performs physiological experiments requiring surgical skills and microdissection techniques. Work requires advanced use of scientific knowledge, methods, procedures, and techniques gained through previous training and experience and the ability of critical reading of scientific literature, identifying scientific gaps and questions, designing and performing experiments, and writing scientific papers. Research experience in cardiovascular function and the epigenetic regulation of cardiovascular development in animal models is preferred. A conceptual understanding of fetal programming related to cardiovascular dysfunction from in utero environmental exposures, as well as the underlying epigenetic mechanisms, is highly desirable. Knowledge of bioinformatics is also preferred.
