Compliance Auditor

As a Compliance Auditor at United Bankers' Bank, you will be crucial in developing and maintaining customer relationships, providing guidance on compliance regulations, and conducting audits to ensure client banks' adherence to compliance requirements while promoting a culture of compliance excellence and regulatory adherence within the banking industry. If you are an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented compliance professional looking for a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the success of community banks, we want you to join the United Bankers' Bank team.

This is generally a remote, work-from-home position that requires self-discipline and self-motivation. Candidates in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area will have the option of working from the UBB Headquarters in Bloomington, MN.

Essential Responsibilities


  • Performs compliance audits based on predetermined audit procedures.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships through phone calls, in-person bank visits, and regional and national banking events.
  • Provides interpretation of regulations, trends and requirements in respect to compliance testing and training.
  • Determines appropriate compliance review processes to use during client reviews.
  • Conducts assessments of the effectiveness of the client bank's existing compliance system.
  • Conducts transaction testing for lending, deposit and BSA functions in client banks.
  • Assists client banks with responses to regulatory findings and/or administrative actions.
  • Drafts written reports addressing the findings of reviews, and audits.
  • Maintains confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Recognizes compliance risks across all bank applications.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Maintain appropriate self-discipline to work remotely with limited supervision.
  • Acts independently, manages projects and meets deadlines with limited supervision.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • 5-10 years bank compliance experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of consumer protection laws, regulations and compliance issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of Bank Secrecy, Anti-Money Laundering, and related rules and regulations.
  • Regulatory compliance certification preferred (CRCM, CCBCO, CAMS), or willingness to obtain
  • Knowledge and understanding of bank deposit and lending operations, lending activities, and other related consumer banking functions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel 10-25% including overnight travel
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing, and a means to travel by automobile and/or air travel in limited circumstances.

Pay Range


  • $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 salary; depending on education, qualifications, experience
  • Annual bonus target: 7% of salary dependent on company and personal performance
