As an Asphalt Paving Project Engineer at Black Top Paving, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our crew. In this collaborative position, you'll assist the leadership team in cultivating a high-performing workforce while meeting customer quality standards in a busy road construction environment. Your responsibilities will include aiding in field layout, preconstruction activities, and project management functions to enhance operational efficiency. You will work closely with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager to monitor safety compliance, develop schedules, and manage quality assurance. By supporting team growth and problem-solving initiatives, you will foster employee commitment and accountability. You'll also engage with clients, negotiate agreements, and monitor project progress, ensuring that every aspect aligns with our commitment to delivering exceptional results.

To thrive as an Asphalt Paving Project Engineer with Black Top Paving, a diverse skill set is essential. A bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field, coupled with at least two years of relevant experience, lays the foundation for success. Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, processes, and equipment is crucial, along with the ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints. Effective interpersonal skills will enable you to build partnerships and collaborate seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders. A strong customer focus and exceptional communication skills-both written and verbal-will enhance your ability to present ideas clearly and professionally.
