POSITION: CONTROLLER

Summary:

Accounting department, including compliance with regulatory agencies and FDICIA
internal controls. Oversee and manage the Current Expected Credit Loss ("CECL")
model through credit risk analysis and computation along with maintaining the
software systems supporting the calculations and analysis. Manage the financial
reporting function of the bank and oversee a variety of complex operational
accounting functions relating to the Bank's general ledger and sub-systems. Develop,
recommend and/or execute strategies to improve process efficiencies and reduce
costs. Manage relationship with tax consultants and outside auditors.

Key Result Areas:

  • Manage the Accounting team and activities to ensure optimum efficiency and service. Advise team members in their respective functions and areas of responsibility. Assume responsibility for the sound record keeping of the Holding Company, the Bank and its subsidiaries consistent with generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively partner with outside auditors, tax consultants and regulatory agencies related to key controls and procedures. Examples include regulatory reports (FDIC, DIF, etc.), Annual Report of Financial Statements, tax filings, outside audit work papers.
  • Responsible for all processes, documentation, data and reporting needs required to maintain CECL compliance while continuing to develop and maintain a successful CECL model and its components.
  • Maintain and update all FDICIA related controls, tests and documentation, ensuring compliance of same. Maintain operating procedures and policies for the Finance Department.
  • Serve as a financial project contributor, coordinator or leader as assigned by the CFO to effectively partner with direct department managers, senior management or executive management to successfully achieve project goals.
  • Maintain the accounting systems, ensuring proper use and operating efficiencies, including ongoing coordination with software provider for updates and system upgrades.
  • Oversee the Disaster Recovery plan for the Accounting department, ensuring that the policy is updated on a regular basis and those employees are familiar with the Bank's overall recovery plan.
  • Assist the SVP/CFO with analyzing and recommending improvements for business units of the Bank, developing financial solutions to business challenges, including providing and implementing strategies for product pricing, expense control, capital management, etc.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting, Master's degree would be a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a senior level accounting position
    in the banking industry.
  • Banking experience requirement may include audit work in the banking industry performed at a public accounting firm.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Working knowledge of accounting theory and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
