Senior Benefits Analyst

Creighton University is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Benefits Analyst to join our Human Resources team. This role is instrumental in evaluating, administering, and enhancing our employee benefits and retirement programs while ensuring compliance with all legal and organizational standards. The Senior Benefits Analyst will act as a key advisor to employees to promote a healthy environment and employee experience. This position will also help shape a competitive total rewards program that supports the University's Jesuit, Catholic mission and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



  • Benefits Program Optimization:

    • Evaluate and recommend improvements to employee health, dental, vision, life, voluntary benefits, and retirement plans to enhance cost-effectiveness and market competitiveness for a compelling value proposition to our current and prospective faculty and staff.




  • Compliance Management:

    • Under guidance of leadership, ensure all benefits programs adhere to regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and other applicable laws.
    • Oversee leave-of-absence administration across multiple states, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local requirements.
    • Ensure full compliance with all applicable benefits regulations and leave-of-absence administration across 30+ states.




  • Vendor Relationship Management:

    • Serve as the primary liaison for benefits vendors, , resolving discrepancies, and monitoring service quality.
    • Assist with leading annual vendor performance reviews and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Assist in the development of new processes and procedures to improve efficiency both internally and with vendor partners




  • Employee Education and Engagement:

    • In concert with Creighton's mission, conduct educational sessions, webinars, and benefits fairs to improve employee understanding and participation in benefit programs.
    • Provide guidance and support to the Creighton campus community with benefit related inquiries, answering general and complex questions.
    • Develop resources and tools to support employees during life events and transitions.




  • Data and Systems Integrity:

    • Maintain accurate benefits data across HRIS systems (Oracle HCM, ADP) and vendor platforms, ensuring seamless integration and reporting.





Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience administering comprehensive benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, life, and disability insurance.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and vendor benefits platforms such as Oracle, Workday, or ADP.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations (i.e. benefit issues, appeals, administrative issues), identify workable solutions/alternatives and make appropriate determinations and/or recommendations resulting in minimal risk.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven experience leading benefits-related educational initiatives and employee engagement programs.



Preferred Certifications:



  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)

Individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education.
