As a BSA Analyst I at First Western, you will play a vital role in helping high-net-worth clients achieve their financial goals. You will work closely with our Risk Management and Compliance team to deliver comprehensive solutions that exceed client expectations.

What You Will Do:



  • Independently investigate alerts generated by the bank's BSA/AML automated software (Verafin) for potential suspicious activity involving money laundering, terrorist financing and fraudulent activity across all business lines to determine and recommend appropriate resolution.
  • Perform timely investigations with well-reasoned and supported decision making of suspicious activity.
  • Summarize and conclude accurate SAR filing decisions with minimum support.
  • Utilize a variety of internal bank systems and external research tools to investigate, research, and prepare documentation related to AML investigations that support resolution of investigation.
  • Prepare and document research, analysis and investigation findings in a concise and through manner.
  • Draft SARs and CTRs as needed; submit reports to BSA Officer allowing sufficient time for approval and submission.
  • Conduct extensive EDD reviews on clients classified on the bank's high risk list.This includes, but is not limited to, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), Cash-intensive clients, Professional Service Providers (PSP), Non-governmental Organizations (NGO) and Money Service Businesses (MSBs).
  • Responsible to accurately risk rate client relationships and document results of full analysis and review.
  • Facilitate contact with account officers to obtain documentation and/or information necessary to complete the account analysis.
  • Conduct ongoing quarterly and annual EDD reviews of high risk clients.


What You Bring:



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • High initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with strong report writing and advanced presentation skills
  • Ability to research, analyze and problem solve
  • Ability to interpret and analyze legal and regulatory documents
  • Collaborative team member
