This is a 3rd shift position.
Assists the supervisor in planning and monitoring the smooth flow of process and raw material in and out of the section as required to meet predetermined schedules.
May alter plan and reassign jobs to compensate for interference caused by delays, difficulties, expedited jobs, etc.
* May make some machine set-ups
* May order materials
* May utilize operators, equipment, and materials to obtain maximum production effectiveness
* Considerable experience with all operations and types of construction is important
* Sets up and runs various auxiliary equipment as required
* Works with operators to insure those requirements are met in order to accomplish their jobs
* May perform any or all of the following tasks: Make work assignments based on best utilization of operators and schedule requirements
* Follows general plan outlined daily by supervisor but makes minor adjustments where necessary
* Makes regular checks of all workstations, going from job to job to keep proper balance of workloads; expedites rush jobs as required
* Alters work plans and reassigns jobs to compensate for delays, difficulties, etc., which may interfere with thegeneral plan
* Orders materials as required to satisfy operator needs
* Arranges for return of excess materials to stores
* Contacts other needed personnel as required
* Writes work orders for routine repairs as needed
* Shares in safety and housekeeping responsibilities
* Assists supervisor in scrap and expense control
* Helps in training of new employees
* Executes required paperwork and takes care of other details as assigned by supervisor.
* Loads and unloads trailers and processes paperwork accordingly
* Checks to ensure completeness and correctness of inbound and outbound shipments, signs freight bills, completes load sheets and bills of lading, checks counts, weighs and examines material to verify correctness of items listed on invoice, PDSO and other records
* Delivers to various departments and drop areas
* Operates all types of power equipment including, but not limited to, conveyors, high-lift trucks, and power tools as dictated by assignment
* Packaging and preparation of packing materials may be required.
* Execute the recommended disposition on returned material and underweight reels
* Organize and monitor material staging areas through the use of decision tools and operator communication
* Performs all other duties as assigned
