The Operator is responsible for the safe operation of equipment while maintaining quality. The Operator continually adjusts machine controls, and monitors run conditions. The role includes, but is not limited to:



  • Knows and follows all safety rules and procedures
  • Maximizing production output while maintaining product quality and safe operations
  • Assist with quality control checks
  • Continual adjustments of gauges and digital control systems that adjust speed, temperature, and air pressure
  • Training Assistant Operators, Manufacturing Helpers, and temporary contractors
  • Performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair functions to optimize machinery
  • Using SAP to record daily production and downtime
  • General maintenance and housekeeping of the area
  • Other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS




  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • 3+ years working in a manufacturing setting operating equipment
  • 1-3 years' experience as a machine operator with knowledge of process equipment, tooling, and set up procedures
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good safety record
  • Good attendance record
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate communication skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • An understanding of basic math functions is required
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Capability and experience training others
  • Self-Motivated
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven success working in teams
  • Available for overtime, weekends, holidays, flexible shifts, as needed
  • Ability to safely lift, push, and pull (up to) 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to routinely work in temperatures up to 110 degrees F at times

Job Description
- Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand
- Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature
- Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials
- Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing
- Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations
- Responsibilities are within Manufacturing/Operations Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines
