We have an opening for a Project Safety Manager with strong Infrastructure and Heavy Civil experience to join our growing construction division. The Project Safety Manager will oversee all aspects of project-specific safety programs and support project-based safety personnel on multiple complex construction projects. The person selected for this role will assist project and corporate safety management in the oversight and execution of the project's health and safety plan in accordance with regulatory requirements and client obligations in a manner that integrates our SEE Safety in Action philosophy into the project's plans, schedule, and production to achieve our goal of zero-incidents.

Responsibilities:



  • Ensure safety and health policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with OSHA and/or other authorities having jurisdiction, and site-specific safety plans on multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with project supervision to ensure that health and safety activities are incorporated effectively into project work plans.
  • Oversee and support the successful performance of on-site safety professionals.
  • Conduct and manage training requirements of each project's craft personnel.
  • Collaborate with safety and project management, and site safety personnel, to solve complex problems to ensure the safe execution of work.
  • Provide mentoring, direction, and subject matter expertise to project personnel.
  • Support operations and project management in the development of site-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct incident investigations and ensure accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with company and project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with representatives of regulatory agencies, clients, subcontractors and vendors to address concerns, provide information, or support project needs.
  • Maintain open communication with the corporate safety manager and project supervision.


  • Conduct safety inspections and document findings and corrective actions.
  • Support and implement safety initiatives, campaigns, and assignments as directed by the corporate safety manager.
  • Champion our SEE Safety in Action philosophy to achieve zero-incidents.


Required Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and success as a safety officer, site safety manager, or equivalent role.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction card (current within the last 5 years)
  • Competent Person: Fall Protection, Excavation/Trenching, and Confined Space
  • Ability to problem solve and implement solutions in challenging work environments
  • Strong understanding of the safety and health regulations of heavy civil construction
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organization skills
  • Proficient with technology and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams) with the ability to effectively learn and adapt to new software and applications as needed
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate ideas, solutions, needs, and requirements to all levels of employees and to external parties as required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that enable team building, collaboration, and conflict resolution.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 75-80% weekly by plane or vehicle to various project locations
  • Reside in or willing to relocate within 45-minutes of our Dallas, TX or Boise, ID office


Preferred Qualifications



  • CHST certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or similar
  • Strong understanding of cranes, lifting, and rigging safety
  • Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 compliance
  • Experience as SSHO on USACE projects
