Job Summary Job Summary

Directs, coordinates and/or supervises all disciplines within the given area of responsibility in processing materials or manufacturing products to achieve the desired level of costs, quality and schedule. Develops and provides leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Quality Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Ensures that productivity goals are achieved and maintained. Ensures that quality standards are maintained and continually improved upon. Provides guidance to teams on development, performance and productivity issues.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Ensures that customer schedules and service are foremost in the minds of direct reports.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Analyzes and selects the proper tools and supplies to be requisitioned.
  • Supervises departmental personnel to achieve the desired level of costs, quality and schedule. Coordinates with direct reports and support departments to implement methods and producibility improvements.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum High School or GED.

Minimum 2 Year / Associate Degree. Training in supervisory and management skills equivalent to an Associate level degree.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
