This position of Team Lead/Project Engineer primarily responsible for developing, improving, and implementing new processes and technologies within the department. This role involves project management, coordination of assignments and application of Lean manufacturing (SYNCHRO) and Quality Management tools. The position also includes overseeing daily activities to support the Internal Logistics Supervisor in accordance to TRUMPF's policies and principles in Receiving.

Team Lead/Project Engineer Duties & Responsibilities

Process Development and Improvement:

  • Design and implement efficient workflows and processes to optimize receiving, pulling and delivery operations.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance department productivity and accuracy.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate specific projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope
  • Develop project plans, allocate resources and track progress
  • Communicate project updates and results to stakeholders effectively

Lean Manufacturing and Quality Management:

  • Apply lean tools (e.g.: 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership and Inventory & Logistic Coordination:

  • Supervise and support team members, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Internal Logistics Supervisor to plan and execute daily operations
  • Ensure all Receiving activities comply with safety, environmental, and organizational standards.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers to ensure seamless material flow.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare reports on Key performance indicators (KPIs) and project outcomes.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and propose operational enhancements
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on findings

Experience

Previous experience in an industrial/ manufacturing environment is preferred. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. MS Office applications and SAP required. Must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and to gain the respect of other employees. Familiarity with TRUMPF products is preferred.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field is required. A combination of an Associates Degree in Engineering or related field, and extensive related work experience may be substituted.
