Safety Specialist

AMSOIL is looking to hire a Safety Specialist. The Safety Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that all employees are working in a safe manner and the work environment meets safety requirements. This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of safety programs, conducting inspections and audits, and collaborating closely with production and distribution teams to resolve safety issues. This position reports on-site to the AMSOIL Center located in Superior, Wisconsin

Core Responsibilities:

• Safety Program Development and Maintenance
  
  
  
  • Participates in the development, implementation and updates of AMSOIL safety programs such as hazard communication, forklift safety, lockout/tagout, confined space entry and other OSHA safety compliance programs
  • Perform hazard analyses and implement mitigation procedures
  • Create, monitor and report on status of safety work orders
  • Maintain safety records and documentation
  
  
  
  
• Safety Audits and Reporting
  
  
  
  • Inspect facilities, equipment, and operations to identify potential safety hazards
  • Perform safety audits to ensure compliance with AMSOIL safety programs
  • Monitor safety performance in the workplace and provide feedback to employees and management
  • Monitor industrial hygiene and design improvements to work environments
  • Analyze accident and incident reports for trends; make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions
  • Complete OSHA and workers' compensation reporting and recordkeeping requirements
  
  
  
  
• Training and Communication
  
  
  
  • Facilitate safety training to create employee awareness of safety requirements and prepare them to follow safety procedures
  • Promote safety awareness through development of informational materials and organizational communication
  • Facilitate safety meetings and communicate outcomes to the organization
  
  
  
  

Position Requirements:

• Secondary education focusing on a relevant course of study preferred
• Three or more years of experience in a safety-focused position
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
