Position Title: Primavera P6 Technical Administrator

Location: Kennedy Space Center

Join our team in support of NASA on the Kennedy Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Program (LX) Support Services Contract Three (KLXS III) contract. Under this contract, ARES provides engineering and technical services, program and business management support services and administrative support services to the EGS Program. The contract also includes support for ground systems and spaceflight systems planning and design; project management and integration; operations integration and analysis; technical requirements development, management, and compliance; cost, risk, information, and configuration management; and schedule integration and analysis.

Position Summary: Primavera P6 Technical Administrator position supports the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Program (LX), Planning and Control office.

Job Description - Functional Responsibilities

  • Primavera Subject Matter Expert (SME) and POC for EGS portion of the IMS database.
  • Integrate and maintain projects within EGS database to create the Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Integrate, maintain, and assign the Baselines for all projects and Missions with the approved dates. Provide objective evidence to configuration management for configuration control of baselines.
  • Maintain configuration control over schedules and resource data within the IMS.
  • Create monthly .XER files for each mission and post to tech doc to maintain historical schedule evidence.
  • Develop, integrate, and maintain detailed EGS Program, Functional Team, and Element level schedules, and its associated project schedules in support of planning, risk analysis, and decision-making activities. This includes developing and maintaining the schedule structure and interdependencies.
  • Run health reports against the EGS IMS to identify issues or concerns; work with the planners on making improvements for increased schedule confidence.
  • Develop custom reports and layouts for in depth analysis and reporting.
  • Evaluate the validity of proposed schedules as well as performance to date; assess feasibility of success; identify gaps, inconsistencies, efficiencies, and risks.
  • Create EGS Program, Functional Team, and Element "What if" schedules to assess different scenarios and downstream impacts to program milestones and operational readiness.
  • Train NASA and contractor personnel in IMS processes and basic knowledge for schedulers in the capabilities and use of the scheduling software.
  • Provide P6 schedule analysis as required by the different Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) functional offices.
  • Update and maintain the EGS Program Schedule Master Plan.
  • Update and maintain integrated, summary-level critical path schedules for presentation at monthly and quarterly program reviews.
  • Update and assign baselines for new scope to maintain earned value management (EVM) reporting as required.
  • Perform and provide analysis of schedules based upon knowledge of Program milestones, operational processing flows, and ground systems developmental activities.
  • Evaluate critical milestones against existing schedules; identify critical path and schedule risks; and report findings of those analyses to NASA.

Required Skills

  • Primavera P6 database administrator expertise is mandatory.
  • Must thoroughly understand concepts of program schedules, milestones, dependencies, float/slack, lag, margin, constraints, baselines/actuals, schedule slip impacts and budgetary impacts.
  • High level proficiency in one or more of the following: Microsoft, Primavera P6, and Milestones Professional software packages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial business applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Create reporting for specific functional organizations and business wide distribution including resource charts, PERT charts, Gantt charts, schedule status, revisions, etc.
  • Participate in any process conversations directly related to Primavera usage and/or database management as relating to Planning and Program Management teams.
  • Must fully understand the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to efficiently multitask.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle Primavera P6 certification
  • Project Management Institute - Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience with Milestones Professional or other schedule software packages
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Experience in with one of the schedule Analysis tools such as: Acumen Fuse; NASA STAT, GAO Schedule Assessment tool; etc.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Technical Computer Engineering or Computer Science or technical equivalent from an accredited institution
  • 5 - 15 years of applicable experience
