SummarySupports diverse and fast paced Research & Development engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype x-ray imaging source devices and subsystems. Ability to work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions is critical. Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test, verification and validation of new products and processing equipment, including the creation of manufacturing transfer documentation and assembly instructions. Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus. Job Description

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required Certifications and Training

  • Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.

Experience Level with Business Tools

  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

LEVEL DESCRIPTION

Skill

  • Experience in the building and processing of X-ray Sources (both Bipolar and Anode-Grounded) desired.
  • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks including: Assembly of products using variety of hand and power tools. Handling of materials to prevent contamination. Basic electric isolation and continuity testing. Ability to learn processes and test methods to assist with engineering V&V testing requirements and delivery of customer consumable prototypes.
  • Ability to create production documentation for assembly and process instructions, and to work with manufacturing stake holders to approve, improve, and train operators to those instructions.

Job Complexity

  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.

Supervision

  • Normally receives little instruction on day to- day work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.

Typical Education and Experience

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • 2 - 3 years of related experience

  • Work environments includes: exposure to chemicals, electrical current, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion, open flame, working from heights, uneven surface.
