ABOUT THE JOB

The Acquisitions Accountant is responsible for preparing and reviewing valuation analyses and making recommendations on all potential acquisitions. This position is also responsible for creating acquisition summaries for Helena's leadership team and board, preparing various reports for parent company and our external auditors, and preparing related acquisition disclosures for Helena's annual report.

The Acquisitions Accountant is also responsible for lease accounting. The responsibilities include supervising the Leasing Coordinator, maintaining leases in the lease accounting software, preparing month end reconciliations, preparing various reports for parent company and our external auditors, and preparing any additional ad hoc reporting requested. This position is also responsible for the related lease disclosures for Helena's annual report.

The Acquisitions Accountant also maintains intangible assets. The responsibilities include adding new intangible assets, preparing month end reconciliations, preparing various reports for parent company and our external auditors, and preparing any additional ad hoc reporting requested. This position also prepares the related intangible disclosures for Helena's annual report.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE




  • Analyzes business acquisitions and special capital projects and prepares executive summaries for submission to the executive committee and/or board.
  • Coordinates answers to parent company's questions on acquisitions and special capital projects.
  • Serves as back-up for manager with project sponsors.
  • Ensures Lucernex (lease software) is updated with any changes in leases.
  • Prepares various reconciliations for leases.
  • Prepares various reports for parent company and management for leases.
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is required.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • Seven years of related work experience and/or training is required.
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • CPA and/or MBA is preferred.



SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS




  • Ability to handle deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 16 Leases.
  • Applicants for positions requiring any driving of a vehicle of any type on a roadway must be 18 and possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
  • Ability to travel by various means up to 10% required.



Successful completion of a drug screen and background check

is required for all positions at Helena.

The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
