The Comprehensive Cancer Center- Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (the James) is committed to providing high quality cancer services in detection, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. The Business Operations Coordinator, Inpatient Hematology (the Department) of the James provides comprehensive operational support for the Department including administrative, financial, facilities, equipment and inventory management, and other business activities and special projects across the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) system.

The Business Operations Coordinator will work under direction of the Director of Business Operations to support operations of the Department. The coordinator will analyze operational and financial data and identify key trends to support nursing operations. This position monitors expenses and ensures the smooth operation of unit-based equipment.

The coordinator will identify potential problems and points of friction and will work with Department leadership and Business Operations to find solutions. The Coordinator will enforce regulatory and safety standards for the Department. This role assists in maintaining both Human Resource and Corporate compliance. The Coordinator will collaborate with multiple departments to maintain effective communication and support the organization's and Departments goals.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Finance or a related field from an accredited school is required. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Workday, BuckeyeLearn, and other relevant systems. Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and leadership teams. A minimum of 1 years experience in healthcare, finance, business operations or related field is required.

The Business Operations Coordinator serves as a dedicated business resource to provide administrative and business analytics support for the Department. The position is responsible for business operations support for the Department, including:

  • Position control management;
  • Fiscal support;
  • Operational metrics, tools, and dashboards;
  • Resource stewardship initiatives;
  • Project/operational support;
  • Facilities and equipment support and management;
  • Audit coordination and compliance; and
  • All other administrative and operational management matters specific to the Department.

The Business Operations Coordinator promotes an environment that facilitates patient and staff satisfaction and a culture that is conducive to team development and professional growth. The Business Operations Coordinator develops and maintains effective working relationships with Department clinical and non-clinical staff, administrators, and the other members of the interdisciplinary Department and Business Operations teams. The Business Operations Coordinator collaborates across OSUWMC with other administrators, leaders and staff to provide fiscal and administrative support within Inpatient Nursing across the health system. The Business Operations Coordinator participates in professional organizations and workgroups to promote the image of the organization externally.
