Description

The RISE Group, Inc. is seeking a Residential Inspector to conduct in-home quality assurance inspections of subcontracted work for customers of the utility company in the territory. As an Inspector, you will visit residences during and/or upon completion of work, with follow-up visits as needed to ensure customer satisfaction. This position is full-time, Monday - Friday, and will work in our closest RISE office location.

Responsibilities:




  • Interpret written and sketched work orders.





  • Train, advise, and maintain good working relationships with installation crews.





  • Interact with homeowners effectively and diplomatically during site visits and when issues arise.





  • Facilitate on-site work to ensure completion in a timely manner.





  • Perform diagnostic tests (blower door and combustion safety tests, infrared scans) and employ other inspection methods to ensure that all installed materials and equipment adhere to quality standards.





  • Document findings, including digital photos of any problems/discrepancies along with the rest of the installation measures inspected.





  • Resolve any minor deficiencies or customer issues during the inspection visit.





  • Create change orders as needed.





  • Obtain homeowner signatures on work completion forms and prepare inspection reports.





  • Communicate with the RISE office, homeowners, contractors, municipal building officials and others in a clear, professional and timely manner.





  • With company support, obtain BPI Professional certification within six months of hire.





  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned to support the team.





Minimum Qualifications:




  • At least three years of building construction/remodeling experience, including knowledge of carpentry, electrical or mechanical systems.





  • Experience interacting with customers and contractors.





  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to tactfully avoid conflict and build mutual respect.





  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.





  • A commitment to and enthusiasm for energy efficiency.





  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.





  • A high school diploma or equivalent.





  • A valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and the ability to travel daily to customers' homes.





  • Able to pass criminal background and drug screening tests.





Preferred Qualifications:




  • Familiarity with weatherization and air sealing practices.





  • Building construction/remodeling supervisory experience.





  • BPI Professional certification.





Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time 40-hour position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Travel: Travel throughout Rhode Island on a daily basis.

Work Environment: This job operates indoors and outdoors. Position will entail frequent exposure to various conditions with exposure to any or all of the following: Heat, Cold, Heights, Dust, Dirt, Indoor, Outdoors, and Confined Areas.
