What you'll do:

  • Performs work in select areas of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the organization's SHE standards and with federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of programs, systems and procedures necessary to ensure the overall safety and health of employees and the community.
  • Maintains safety training records, incident records, and facilitates safety training per the site's requirements.
  • Communicates and initiates improvements in safety based on trends and audit findings.
  • Monitors and prevents chemical, physical and biological hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area.
  • Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or uncomfortable conditions in the workplace.
  • Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment, to minimize the hazardous potential.
  • Assists in developing / delivering employee training, emergency preparedness and quality assurance programs. Provides safety performance measures.
  • Conducts root cause analyses to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, ensuring continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance.
  • Interfaces with other department personnel in the corporate office, administration and plant locations as necessary.
  • Requires efficient communication with external stakeholders, visitors, employees, and management in other departments.

What you'll need:

  • Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental, Health, or a related field with 3+ years of work-related experience in a manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions:

Position operates in an environment in which there may be temperature extremes and exposure to weather, excessive noise and vibrations, moving mechanical parts, electric shock, hazardous chemicals, gases, odors, hot liquids or equipment. May work in high, low or confined spaces.

Physical requirements: Position requires lifting/pushing/carrying up to 50 pounds chest high.

This position description is not intended to be all inclusive, and the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $72,700.00 - $109,100.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
